Mr. Alexandros Hadjicostas, PhD candidate at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), received two international Best Oral Presentation Awards at the 2025 IEEE Industry Applications Annual Meeting, one of the leading global conferences organized by the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) — the world’s largest technical professional community.
The awards were given in recognition of his presentations of the following research papers:
- “Energy Stress on Surge Protective Devices Installed in DC Charging Stations due to Negative Lightning Strikes on Light Pole”

The awards ceremony took place on June 20, 2025, in Taipei, Taiwan, during the 2025 IEEE Industry Applications Annual Meeting Incorporating the Industrial & Commercial Power Systems Asia Conference.
